The Pocket Organizer is a general purpose organizer that is perfect to organize cargo pockets and can also be used as a belt pouch or as an organizer inside a bag or backpack.

The organizer is 7'' x 4.75'' and 1 inch thick. Outside the pocket there is an external mesh pocket in one side for loose items and the belt loops with an integrated handle in the other. The handle is useful to retrieve the organizer from your cargo pocket if you use it in that way.

The organizer is opened using a clamshell style zipper, once opened the interior is organized in two panels. The left panel has five elastic loops useful for pens, knives, flashlights etc; this panel has a yellow background for extra contrast when you need to find something. There's also a strap with a plastic clip that can be used for a keychain , a photon style flashlight or other items.

The right panel has two internal pockets that can be used for items or to attach a notepad, the 4'' by 6'' rite in the rain notepads fit perfectly. Since the organizer opens completely you can use it to write notes if you put a notepad in the right panel.

The construction in cordura nylon is very strong, the zippers are very silent and run very well and the belt loops are extremely strong, you can use the organizer for heavy items without problems and it is surprising the number of things you can neatly organize inside the pouch.

Maxpedition Janus Extension Pocket

The Janus is a utility pocket to be added to the strap of Maxpedition versipacks such as the Fatboy, Colossus, Jumbo and some backpacks. There are several ways to use the Janus.

The first one is by splicing an existing shoulder strap with the Janus using the buckles in the Janus, the strap will then be longer and feature the Janus in the middle. You can also attach it using Malice clips via the modular straps in one of the sides. You can also use it on your belt or as a waistpack. The strap with the buckles can be totally removed.

One side of the Janus has loop fields and the other PALS webbing you can decide which side will be the front side. There is a tube running on one of the sides that can be used as a flashligh cave.

The Janus is 8” x 4” x 1.5” with dual zippers and one internal division, it is good for PDAs,cellphones, wallets and other accesories. The external straps can be used to clip a knife or a money clip.

As with other Maxpedition products the construction is excellent, the zippers are strong and run very well and the pocket is very useful maybe a little bulky for its capacity due to the strong construction and multiplicity of attachment options outside the pocket. It is a very good adition for a versipack and can also be very good for a medium to big size backpack strap. As a standalone waistpack it is too big to be unnoticed and too small to carry many items so in our evaluation we choose to use it with a Fatboy versipack and was a great adition.

Available in green, kakhi and black. You can read more and order for $35 from Maxpedition's website.

Maxpedition Three by Five

The three by five is a small pouch by Maxpedition measuring as it name suggests 5'' by 3'' with 1.5'' of depth. The pouch is designed to be carried and attached as an accesory pouch to a backpack or a bigger bag but it can also be certainly be used as a standalone element.

The 3x5 has two compartments accesible via zippers, there is also a flat small unzippered pocket at the front that can be good for a card or some cash.

The main compartment's zipper can be secured with a button-lock to avoid unintentional opening of the pouch. At the back of the pouch there are modular attachment loops for a belt or to attach the pouch to something else using Malice clips.

The construction in reinforced Nylon is extremely strong, the zippers run very well and seem to be extremely strong. The pouch is good to carry a GPS, a small digital camera or some accesories that need quick access from outside of a backpack. It can also be used to carry accesories from a belt loop.

It is available in black, green, khaki and ACU camo for $20. Check it or order from Maxpedition.

TAD Gear's OS Sheath

These sheaths from TAD gear have the nice characteristic of being able to be carried either in vertical or horizontal position. They are about 5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide with a velcro closure in a very long flap.

To carry them in vertical position you use the belt loop in the back; to carry horizontally you use two smaller velcro loops across the main loop you can then attach the sheath to your belt in horizontal position and it will be more confortable.

They are useful for flashlights, multitools such as the leatherman juice, SAKs, lighters, Survival capsules and other uses.

Made of strong nylon with reiforced stitches the sheaths will resist every day usage bumps and scratches without breaking, the closures are solid. The main flap is so big that accidental opening is almost impossible.

They are available in both green and black from TAD gear for $17.

Diplomat Pocket Organizers

The pocket organizer was created to provide a way to organize what you put in your cargo pockets when you wear cargo pants. So they have been sized to fit most cargo pants pockets without problems.

The organizers have a zipper to close them, when opened they have elasic straps on one side for pens and other objects and flat pockets in the other side for flat items. There are two small straps with clips that can be used for keys, a small flashlight or some other items.

The pouch is flexible enough to carry some bigger items inside like a cellphone, a bigger flashlight or a PDA inside its case. A multi-tool like a Leatherman with the spare bits will also fit without any problems. The construction is solid, both the inside and the outside are strong, the only weakish point are the small straps with the plastic clips inside but even if not very strong they are great for items that you need to access quickly and you don't want to lose. You can pull a small flashlight or a knife using the straps without opening the organizer completely.

In the outside they have a velcro patch and a mesh pocket for quick access items.

The organizers are strong and expand to carry as many things as you want, they are useful for survival kits, emergency kits, repair kits and others, if you don't wear cargo pants you can always use them to organize your items inside a backpack, bag or briefcase.

They cost $10 and can be ordered in black, olive green or tan from CountyComm.

TOPS TP005 Waist Pouch

This is a Waist pouch by TOPS (tactical operation products), it features a main compartment with a handle, two removable side pouches and a zippered front compartment.

The main compartment has plenty of space for several items, the "U" shape zipper is a good idea to load and unload items on the go. Inside the compartment you can find a removable pocket for 6 CDs/DVDs, a net pocket for loose/small items and a flapped pocket that can be used to carry batteries or other small items. There is also a small cord with a clip for keys or small items.

The front compartment has internal pockets for flat items and a net pocket. The front pocket has MOLLE attachment points to add extra pouches if you want to attach carabiners or other objects. At the sides you will find two pen pockets for pens that have a clip.

The side pouches can be removed using the MOLLE system, you can move them to the front if you want for example, they have a small zippered external pocket. These pouches are good for radios, multitools, flashlights, phones, PDAs and other items that you want to access quickly.

On the back you will find yet more MOLLE attachment points in case you want to attach this waistpack to a backpack or something similar, the waistbands can be stored inside the back of the waistpouch if you want to carry it with the top handle or attached to a bigger pack.

The construction is excellent made of cordura nylon with reinforcement points and double stitching, the amount of things you can carry is surprising for the size of the bag and there are many possible configurations and reconfigurations for different needs. You are getting 3 pouches for the same price, the big one and the two small side pouches. The only small drawback I can find about this bag is that it is a tad big for EDC in a urban environment but is certainly great for any kind of small travel you do or as a complement to your backpack or large bag.

You can read some extra information from Tops website and buy it for $50 from LightHound.

Spec Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr

This Wallet from Spec Ops has no particular fancy features but offers a lot of functionality in a high quality product.

The wallet is a tri-folder with a shark-bite closure system (no velcro!) I've found this closure both soundless and secure. The main compartment offers a zipper that can be used as a hidden pocket.

Then you have an internal id window, a small zippered compartment for change or some small items, four credit card slots and two unzippered small compartments for loose small items, etc.

Outside you have another id window/pocket useful for Ids if you carry the wallet from a lanyard. There are 2 eyelets that can be used for a lanyard if you want to carry it from your neck or for a wallet chain if you want to secure your wallet to a belt loop.

The wallet is made from Cordura Nylon, double stitched and has several reinforcement points after several months of use there are no visible marks or problems in mine even when its next to some sharp objects, keys and coins in my pocket.

The Wallet is available Acu, Black, Coyote Tan, Woodland Camo, Tan, Olive and Desert Camon for $30, you can order or read more about it in Spec Ops' website.
