The Otter Box is a strong waterproof and crushproof box to carry different items. They are available in different colors and sizes, the one in the picture is the smallest size measuring
4.837"x 3.682"x 1.652" external and 4.003"x 2.488"x 1.293" internal. From that size they go bigger up to laptop sized boxes etc.

The box has a rubber seal to make it waterproof, it can be put under water up to 100 feet without leaking, I wouldn't probably call it a dive box but they are fine for all your outdoor activities including boating, river trips and related. The boxes of course float so if the contents are not extremely heavy your kit will float and be protected if dropped into the water.

Crush resistance is based in the resistance of polycarbonate the material that makes the clear cases. It is fine against most drops and hits.

The Otter Boxes are in our humble opinion not as strong and well built as Pelican Cases, but they are certainly a good alternative for your kits and gear. As long as you have things that need to be protected from impacts and water this cases in the adequate size will be useful.

Nalgene 32oz bottle

In the world of water bottles, and there are many, Nalgene bottles have an outstanding reputation among the circle of backpackers and outdoors enthusiasts, in this review we will cover the 32oz wide mouth model, probably the most classic model, but there are many many variations so check which one is best for your needs.

The bottle when empty weights 4.5oz it is 7.87 x 3.62 inches in length and comes with a plastic cap with a small plastic loop and a ring around the bottle neck to prevent losing the cap.

Nalgene bottles are made of Lexan, a special plastic that is very neutral to odors and tastes, probably the best characteristic of the Nalgene bottle is that it won't get soap odor or taste after cleaning it and you can use it for juice and other flavoured drinks without leaving a permanent taste, it doesn't taste like plastic either. Lexan is a bullet proof material so the robustness of the bottle is near the unbelivable, it will resist falls, scratches, bumps and all kinds of abuses without breaking.

The bottle can be used to keep boiled water without the Lexan melting at all, the melting point is around the 300F or 154C for Lexan.

The wide mouth bottle is leak proof and of course hermetic so it can be filled very easily and that can be very important in a survival situation, it can also be used to store a survival kit or anything that needs to be protected from water and the environment. Bright colored wide mouth Nalgene bottles are an excellent choice for a survival kit doubling as a water container and kit container. The drawback of the wide mouth bottle is that drinking from it can be a bit messy so you can get a Splash Guard for $3.25 to keep the nice properties of the wide mouth without trouble when drinking.

Witz ID locker See it Safe

This is a thin plastic case intended as an ID holder but can certainly be used to store other slim items, as a wallet or as a case for a small survival or first aid kit.

The case is 4.25'' wide, 3.25'' high and 0.75'' thin. It is made of crush resistant see-through clear plastic that opens with an angled latch for better access to the inside. It is closed with a small pressure clip and has a rubber seal to make it waterproof.

Inside you can keep your ID badge, some money, credit cards and your choice of items as long as they are thin. It is good to store alcohol pads, band aids and other very thin items for a small first aid kit or maybe an ID-badge first aid kit.

It comes with a nylon lanyard featuring a breakaway clip for neck carry it can also be carried in a pocket or hanging from a backpack there is no pocket clip for pocket carry.

The size is good even for large ID bags and will hold some folded bills and credit cards if needed if you have some stuff that you want to carry with your ID badge this is a nice case. If you don't carry an ID badge this case is good if you want to build a small kit as long as the items fit. The rubber seal makes the case water resistant and dunkable so it can be good to protect items that should not get wet.

The Jimi Wallet

The Jimi Wallet is a small and stylish plastic wallet that can be used as a normal wallet, id holder, card holder, badge holder or to store small kits.

When opened the wallet has a card holder on one side that is good for about 4 or 5 credit cards and a money clip useful for some folded bills (not many), there is no additional space for othe items, this is a wallet designed to hold just the essentials.

The translucent cases are fine to flash badges or passes without the need of opening a wallet or looking for them, they have a lanyard hole in case you want to carry the wallet as a badge holder in neck lanyard.

The internal money clip or the credit card holder clip can be removed if you want extra space for bills or if the clip is not useful for you, optionally you can purchase an SD card holder and use the wallet to carry SD cards too.The Jimi is also water resistant in case you were worried.

There is an "x" model identical to the one reviewed here but wiht an extra clip in the outside, the clip can be used to clip the wallet to your pocket or as a money clip to carry some change. The available colors are clear, smoke, magenta, ruby, aqua, orange, green, pink and the only non-translucent color: black. They cost $15 and can be ordered from the jimi website.

Diplomat Pocket Organizers

The pocket organizer was created to provide a way to organize what you put in your cargo pockets when you wear cargo pants. So they have been sized to fit most cargo pants pockets without problems.

The organizers have a zipper to close them, when opened they have elasic straps on one side for pens and other objects and flat pockets in the other side for flat items. There are two small straps with clips that can be used for keys, a small flashlight or some other items.

The pouch is flexible enough to carry some bigger items inside like a cellphone, a bigger flashlight or a PDA inside its case. A multi-tool like a Leatherman with the spare bits will also fit without any problems. The construction is solid, both the inside and the outside are strong, the only weakish point are the small straps with the plastic clips inside but even if not very strong they are great for items that you need to access quickly and you don't want to lose. You can pull a small flashlight or a knife using the straps without opening the organizer completely.

In the outside they have a velcro patch and a mesh pocket for quick access items.

The organizers are strong and expand to carry as many things as you want, they are useful for survival kits, emergency kits, repair kits and others, if you don't wear cargo pants you can always use them to organize your items inside a backpack, bag or briefcase.

Maxpedition M2 WaistPack

The M2 is the smallest waistpack from Maxpedition. This pouch is constructed in super strong cordura nylon, it has a main compartment with a double zipper and a smaller front compartment that closes with a buckle.

Inside the main compartment there are small flat pockets for cards, ids and other small items. The compartment itself can carry a PDA, notepad and other items, the pouch is small in size but has a very good volume so you will be surprised by the number of things you can carry.

The front compartment is good for a cellphone, multitool, flashlight or other items that you want to access quickly. There are two bottomless pen pockets in the sides for pens and pencils that have a pocket clip. The pouch can be attached to the belt using the loops in the back and it can also be attached to a backpack or bag using Malice clips. There are both horizontal and vertical attachment points in the back of the pouch.

Pelican Cases

Don't look for anything very fancy here, these are just cases and their purpose is to store things. So what better for valuable gadgets than very special cases like the ones from Pelican? These cases are shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof. They even come with a pressure valve to release pressure from the inside in case of need.

You can get them in many different colors and sizes, the 1010 in the picture is the smallest one, there is a i1010 version for Ipods with an outlet for earplugs. You can also get foam inserts for the case that can be shaped to accept different items, for example batteries. The cases are produced in different colors: black, yellow and clear.

They are great to carry gadgets around without worries about bumps, falls or humidity. Price starts at about $10 and up for the bigger ones. (i1010 for Ipds $35). You can get more information at Pelican website.
