Sun FeatherWeight Mirror

This is a signal mirror made by Sun Company. It has some interesting details compared to other popular signal mirrors.

The first difference is that this mirror is bigger, at 4.2 inches by 3.1 inches it is not suitable for a wallet and barely ok for a pocket. It is also very thin and extremely light only 1/3 of an ounce.

There is a small hole in the center used to aim when signaling (not seen in the picture), the reflective material is plastic and is not really very good reflecting light that is why the mirror is probably so big.

In our tests this mirror had problems aiming and the reflected light was not very bright compared to other signal mirrors. In our opinion this mirror makes sense as a backup or if you manage to cut it down for wallet size as something that you can carry in your wallet without adding weight and will only be used in case of need. As a test we cut this mirror to credit-card size with a simple pair of scissors, cutting it was not difficult at all and the mirror survived the operation without problems. Carrying the trimmed mirror in a wallet is fine as a backup signal mirror or as an utility mirror.

To check your face, apply makeup or similar tasks it works fine. Just don't put your chances of being rescued in the hands of this mirror because there are better ones.

You can get it from EDCdepot at $3.25

Tool Logic's Tool Lite II

The Tool-Lite II is the most complete credit card sized multitool from ToolLogic. It features 9 different tools taking the same space as a couple of credit cards so you can carry it in your wallet or other places where you can only put flat items.

It has a 2'' serrated blade that is a lot better than the blades found in other small multi tools, this one can be used for several cutting and chopping jobs without problems. Then we have a mini red LED light, a good pair of scissors, an eyeglass screwdriver, nail file, a staple puller, plastic tweezers and plastic toothpick.

The tweezers and toothpick made of plastic are probably sub-par but all the other tools are good quality and very useful.

Offering many useful tools in a very compact presentation the Tool Lite II is a very useful multi tool. You can read more about it or order it for about $30 from ToolLogic's website.

Tool Logic's T1 Business Card

The T1 is a credit card sized multi-tool from Tool Logic primary intended for the every day business man.

The tool offers a small blade slash letter opener, ballpoint pen, nail file with cuticle tool, scissors, tweezers, toothpick, small phillips and flat screwdrivers, a sewing needle,a ruler and a pocket clip that can be used as a money clip as well.

The combination of tools is fine, a small pin would have been more practical than the sewing needle, the tools in general are ok, not spectacular but do their job. The plastic tweezers are the weakest link.

The T1 is quite complete, maybe more oriented to personal care rather than "business". The best is probably the clip, since you can use this as a money clip and have a useful set of tools at the same time and if you don't want the clip it can be removed so you can store the tool in your wallet.

The T1 costs about $15 and you can read more information in Tool Logic's website.

VIctorinox Swiss Card Lite

Multi-tools shaped like a credit card are good to carry inside wallets, pockets and pouches.

This card has a small blade, scissors, a ballpoint pen, a pin, tweezers, a red led light, magnifying glass, a small ruler and 4 different screwdrivers.

The scissors are very good and the flat mini screwdriver with 4 different ends is great and has good torque for such a small size. The blade is soft and should not be used for intensive jobs.

In my opinion this tool is only missing a toothpick to have a very complete set of tools, you can replace the tweezers for a toothpick if you want buying a Victorinoz toothpick replacement. An excellent set of tools in a very small package.

The swiss card lite retails for about $20, you can find more information in Victorinox's web site.

Atwood Micro Card Knife

This is a very small card-style knife, it is made in S30V steel by Peter Atwood. One of the corners is machined to work as a screwdriver for extra functionality.

The tool includes a kydex sheath. The size is really small (see side by side picture with a quarter) and the blade is so good that you can use it for many different things such as opening boxes, cutting cord, chopping jobs etc.

The kydex sheath has a lateral pull system so you can carry this in your keychain if you want but being as small as it is you can fit it anywhere.

The price is $60 and you can find more information at Peter Atwood's website.
